Becoming an instructor is more than just publishing a course. It's important to use the online environment to connect with your students. Successful instructors spend time not only creating content, but also interacting with their students. We encourage you to build a loyal student base. Ask for feedback, answer questions and reviews, and interact to improve the course.
Ways to interact with your students
There are many ways to communicate directly with your students. Create announcements and promotional emails, send direct messages, and interact with students through course support groups and answer communities. Many instructors find it easier to manage their communications through mobile apps.
Education Ads
Education announcements are designed to stimulate students, rekindle their interest, and encourage them to return to their courses. Use them to send course updates and share free course resources that complement the course materials. Notifications will be sent via email and will also appear in the message center of the student's G-Talent account.
You may submit up to four announcements per month and may only submit free resources related to learning materials. Please do not direct students to promotional materials as this is against our policy.
Here are some tips for writing educational ads:
Include a quiz or call to action to encourage students to complete specific lectures or sections of your course.
-
Inspire students with subject-specific news and keep them interested in the topics of study.
Notify students when courses are updated or content is added. You can get their attention by attending the course.
Promotional ads
They can be used to announce new courses to students who are already taking them, or share coupon codes for current courses for others to send to their friends and family.
You can send promotional emails for each course up to twice a month. These emails must contain a link to your G-Talent course.
Here are some tips for creating your ad:
-
We recommend sending a series of promotional email marketing to attract interest. For example, to announce the start of a new course, send 2 emails over the course of a week to your list of current G-Talent students.
Add a discount if you wish. However, don't forget to include the expiration date of the promotion and mention it clearly.
Create seasonal discounts or limited-time offers to celebrate holidays or special dates.
Cite actual student feedback from the course you are promoting (ask the student for permission in advance).
Direct messages
You can use these messages to communicate privately with students and other teachers. When you send a direct message, your students will receive the message in the product. Depending on your preferences, you may also receive emails.
Questions and Answers
This is an in-product forum where students enrolled in a course can post questions, read answers, and respond to each other. You can also pin or highlight frequently asked questions.
Best practices for the subject line
A clear and engaging subject line grabs a student's attention and encourages them to open and read your message. Follow these rules to write catchy subject lines for your marketing and promotional emails.
Please do not type in all caps.
Avoid exclamation points and phrases.
Give students a compelling reason to open the email, but don't use overused words like "free," "special offer," or "discount" that can trigger spam filters. Occasion or season (birthday, personal achievement, or holiday).
You can write the subject line as a curious question.
-
Don't use the same topic more than once. This can cause students to lose interest in emails.
Try different email subjects.
