Alliance between IESA business school and G-Talent.Net

The Institute of Advanced Studies in Administration (IESA) is a management school that trains leaders, as responsible professionals or entrepreneurs, capable of contributing to the success of public or private organizations. It offers an academic offering of postgraduate courses and executive training of international quality, under a teaching philosophy where the student is the center of the learning process.

Its mission is to generate and disseminate knowledge to train responsible leaders and managers capable of contributing to the success of private and public organizations.

IESA , BID Lab and G-Talent.Net have joined forces and on April 29, 2023, the EmprendeTECH Program was launched, a training and support program for entrepreneurial teams interested in developing or promoting technology-based businesses with social impact.

In this program, we are proud as an Online Learning Academy to participate as strategic allies, providing complementary training in digital and technological tools to Entrepreneurs who seek to enhance their ideas and lead them to success.

We will offer 10 technological and digital courses that seek to complement and enhance the skills of entrepreneurial groups, so that the growth of their businesses can be exponential through the appropriate use of technology.

The project proposes a comprehensive model that will boost the ecosystem of technology-based entrepreneurship with social impact in Venezuela, based on four pillars:

Strengthening the capacities of entrepreneurs, with a focus on social impact and technological skills, especially among women and young people.
Support the incubation and acceleration of initiatives.
Connect with international financing opportunities.
Promote the creation of a global network of Venezuelan technology entrepreneurs.

IESA - EmprendeTech

EmprendeTech will be implemented over thirty months in two editions per year, will have national reach through the IESA headquarters, or its allies, and will be supported by international networks.

This first edition begins on April 29 and ends on July 29, 2023, three months of learning, networking and mentoring from people prepared both academically and with the experience of already successful businesses, not only in Venezuela but in other countries.

In the EmprendeTECH Program we participate not only as allies in training, additionally our CEO and Founder of G-Talent .Net Clover Brito participates as one of the criminal lawyers providing all his support and experience.

Let's remember that our CEO and Founder has a Master's Degree in Finance from IESA (2004) and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from IESA (2008); he has extensive experience in the development of self-sustaining businesses and entrepreneurships. At Grupo Otepi he served a dual role as Director of Finance and Technology and, in 2010, he founded the consulting and innovative solutions company BG - Be Great . In 2020, he also created G-Talent.net , one of the fastest-growing online learning destinations in the region, with a community of more than 200 thousand users in just 2 years of its founding.

Likewise, entrepreneurs will be guided to form triple-impact businesses, which are those that seek to generate not only economic benefits, but also create social and environmental value for the community where they are located.

A study conducted by IESA and UCAB reveals that at least three million Venezuelans are entrepreneurs.

According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM Venezuela 2022), 90% of entrepreneurs do so out of necessity and the vast majority of their businesses have little impact on the economy. The study points out the urgency of creating a “road map” that includes entrepreneurs and the State to grow this sector.

Despite being a country severely affected by the economic and social crisis, as well as the lack of public policies, Venezuelans are looking for ways to get ahead, launching themselves into entrepreneurship in search of better opportunities and earning a decent living wage.

The research was sponsored by EY, Development Bank of Latin America ( CAF ) and Mercantil Banco , and was based on a national survey of 2,218 adults and a poll of 36 economic experts.

The analysis, presented on Wednesday, March 15, indicates that nearly 3 million Venezuelans (19% of the country's adult population) are starting up businesses at different stages. Of that group, the vast majority (86%) have early-stage ventures (TEA) , that is, they have nascent businesses (startups less than three months on the market) or new businesses (less than 3.5 years on the market), and only 14% have established or partially consolidated businesses (EBO), that is, they have survived more than five years on the market. Speaking of the entire adult population of the country, approximately 11% have nascent ventures, 5% have new ones, and only 2.6% have established businesses.

All of the above leads us to conclude that the EmprendeTECH Program promises to be a success not only as a pioneering project in training and supporting entrepreneurs in the country, but also in supporting the economy and technological evolution in Venezuela.
