How many times have you searched for an image on the internet without a background, but it turns out that it does have one? If you need an image without a background, don't fall into this trap anymore and discover how to remove the background of an image in Photoshop.

We show you 3 different ways to remove the background from your images: Erase with the polygonal lasso, The quick method and Simple freehand lasso.

It's very easy, in this article we will show you step by step how to do it, you just have to select an image to practice.

Do you already have the image? Then let's get started.

Remove background in Photoshop with polygonal lasso

This method will be ideal if your image has completely straight edges, because it selects the sides from end to end.

1. Choose the tool:

Add the image, once you have it select the Polygonal Lasso tool located in the toolbar on the left.

2. Outline the image

Once you have selected the image, click on the starting point and outline the parts of the image you want to keep by clicking together to join the tips.

If you do it right, a flashing dotted line will form around the image, and they will all be connected.

3. Select “Invest”

Now that you have the dotted image you need to click on the drop-down menu, click “Select” in the top menu, and then click “Invert.”

Remove background in Photoshop quick method

The quick method adapts to images with rounded edges.

1. Select the tool

If you have an image with rounded edges, select the “Quick Selection” tool from the toolbar on the left just below the ribbons you used earlier.

2. Select the size

We recommend the large size to start with, this allows you to select larger parts of the background, speeding up the process.

3. Remove the background

Use this tool like a brush and go over the parts where you want to remove the background. Use the “Shift” key to increase your selection.

5. Repeat the process

You must do this step until you select the entire background of your image.

If you selected part of the image, no problem, you can go back and remove those parts, just click on “Subtract from Selection” or you can hold down “Alt”.

The trick here is to position your cursor along the inner edges of the image you want to keep. You can select the size of the Quick Selection tool to touch up the finer details. Then remove the sections you accidentally selected.
